As if vigilance required anymore motivation

Singapore. How desperate can you get for some to cement yourself as the country with some of the most ridiculous public campaigns? Now you’re offering “attractive” prizes to be “vigilant”!

I’m very sure this will work! Yes let’s bribe Singaporeans to make them more vigilant!

It's just another avenue to win prizes. Didn't see hw this differed frm tt name the 4th university contest.

And someone did offer a name and was passionate abt calling it temasek. I'll rmbr it cos it's ur answer. Likewise. N I still rmbr the answer I gv for a lame Ricky Martin contest zaman un dos tres. Pt is, it works for ppl it appeals to. Even to those it doesn't. Look at u, they got u thinking abt it (and many other related issues too) didn't they? Sgporeans hv a tendency to be critical abt the govt I shld knw. Just felt like playing the devil's advocate today… Perspective sake.

The diff nad, there were no prizes for name the 4th university contest. Pols sent in their suggestions because they cared. That is, if there were people like me who did care enough. But what kind of message r we sending to Singaporeans if we offer them prizes for telling on a bag that was left alone? Or on people with beards and walked with a limp? All for the sake of some "attractive prizes"?If they cared for Singapore enough, especially Singapore's security, then it requires no more motivation than the motivation to eat and drink. During the time there were no prizes on offer, were there any bombs in bags that were left alone? Did anyone here die due to some terror attacks? No. So this campaign, really is unnecessary and serves to only inculcate paranoia more than anything else.

Can we be vigilant against criminal insults of intelligence? The brainiac behind this ought to be locked up man.

Malunya bila tengok poster ni. This is singapore? Is this a joke or betul-betul there is such a campaign? Whoever came up with this?

    Haha!

I think by introducing such rewards, they reduce the intrinsic motivation to care about Singapore…its quite dumb.

I think ey knw we knw n I suspect sumwhere in their campaign proposal they promised to engage the community, with the comp, they now cn measure their kpi. And it's so lame noone participates so those who do hv higher chances of winning tt psp. ( guess target grp from the prize)

Im not surprised…they can even pay us to produce babies, so this is nothing new at all.

Imagine if they put all that money into helping eliminate poverty…

  13. Hazrul Azhar Jamari (November 18, 2009, 11:34 am).

Since it's organized by the transport operators, imagine the fares they can reduce if they actually don't need that money!

  14. Eman Lim (November 18, 2009, 11:39 am).

if all the players are in cahoots and prices are standardised what's the point of the game…fark competition and work on a sustainable massively affordable commuter service system.

i was in the train just now. i stood in front of an army boy. he was sitting in the very crowded train right at the seat for pregnant women. a pregnant woman came in and stood beside me. the army boy didn't do anything. that's because he was too engrossed in his psp. he was in singapore armed forces uniform, playing his psp like a spoilt selfish child. and i don't think he even realised something's wrong.and now, they are rewarding vigilant ppl with more psp. i am trying to imagine a soldier in palestine, taking the train, if any, playing psp without even caring about the world around him. i can't. in fact, i can't even imagine a palestinian boy doing that.
